Clink restaurant and bar in Sumner is now doing it’s fabulous thin crust Italian style Pizza Take Away. With the limited offerings available and the onset of colder nights we thought it time to offer our locals something not seen since Feb 22nd…take out pizza. P 326 5353

Hi there

Clink restaurant has now re opened….5pm till late Tuesday to Saturday and from 12pm Sunday. New Autumn Menu and Pizza Menu. Great Craft beers on tap and lots of fab wines!

Hi there Richard….many thanks for your phone call too…traumatised is the right word for it…I can remember saying to Martine as all hell broke loose, that the building must go!..but despite the violent shaking & jerking it stayed in one piece. However the insides were trashed well & truly…even dishes in the dishwasher were heaved out, wall oven tossed on the floor, piano shunted around the lounge, not a single thing stayed in cupboards…99% of everything breakage broke..
But we are okay & we are much better off than most. Yes the Chch RWC fixtures are in serious doubt….there is no way that the city can be “party centre” as they were promoting it..the route from the square to the stadium is a through a battle zone of destruction..& it not humanly possible to clean it all up in time.
Talking of other things ..we are both hoping that Kathleen is well & no news is good news. Anthony’s house?/k/regardsbruce

Glad you are ok and recovering. I phoned Martine last week only 2 minutes after an after shock and she sounded upset. I hope things are settling down. Anthony was fairly traumatised as he was in Christchurch at the time. Luckily he was in a meeting not at his office which was destroyed. Took him 3.5 hrs to get home not knowing about the family. Sadly it appears the world cup at Chch may be affected. Best wishes to you all-wishing you all the very best for the future. Richard

Hi Ian…I’m afraid our Bumble Bee queens must know more than we can understand…last night several very large queens were trying to get inside our house here…probably knew that the rain was coming??
I’m tempted now to build a BB house out of some clay pots…in time for next season….possible?….I have a warm spot by the old wooden garage..
I suspect you have the expertise to assist )
